General Loss Analysis
Every cask or storage vessel held within Vapour contains a complete history of all the data ever recorded for it. This includes a log of:
- What was filled into a cask (as a result of a fill or rerack), or what was in the cask when it arrived
- Any regauges which have taken place following the filling/arrival
- What was in the cask at the point of disgorge/dispatch
Using these key records, Vapour can generate a Loss Analysis report which calculates the following on a cask-by-cask basis:
- The period between filling/arrival and the latest regauge record/disgorge
- The amount of LPA lost
- Therefore, the % LPA lost per year
These losses are then plotted onto a scattergraph and banded by thresholds which can be tweaked by admins within Vapour (Settings > Settings > Maturation Settings).
There are currently three options for the types of input which can be selected when generating a loss analysis report:
- Casks – this will generate loss analysis for the selected casks based on their most recent regauge
- Disgorges – this will find the casks related to the selected disgorge tasks and calculate losses based on their last known value at the point of disgorge
- Dispatch Notes – this will find the casks related to the selected dispatch notes and calculate losses based on their last known value at the point of dispatch
We are also currently exploring the functionality to produce loss analysis for storage locations. If you are interested in helping us craft and test this functionality, please let us know.
Precision Loss Analysis with CASKLOG™ Integration
To enhance the data that is being analysed, we have partnered with Clyde Associated Engineers to provide an end-to-end, automated, fully calibrated and seamlessly integrated solution. Using Clyde Associated Engineers' highly accurate filling and disgorging system, CASKLOG™, filling and disgorging data can be sent directly to Vapour without any manual effort or input. This data can then inform the loss analysis which Vapour generates, ensuring what is produced is reliable and extremely accurate, giving you the full picture of the losses occurring in your maturing stock. Please visit the Vapour website for more information on this integration.
