Setting Default Costs / Customer Costs

Default Costs can be found within the Maturation module / Settings / Default Costs.

Now simply input the cost per item.

Thereafter, if you have Individual Customer Costs select

Maturation Module / Settings / Customers / Costs

On this screen you will see the sliding selector.

If this is “on” (Blue) then the Customer will be billed for these items, as per the default costs.  If you wish a specific cost for this customer then input the number, enter and the number is now bold.

E.g. In the example above the Customer does not get billed for a sample. In addition they have a specific price of £15 per Regauge (Dip Stick).

When Vapour calculates storage billing, it works through a fixed priority order to decide which cost should apply to each storage unit.

It starts with the most specific match, such as a customer-specific cost for the exact unit type and zone, then gradually falls back through broader matches such as all-zone costs, cost profile costs, default costs, and finally category-level costs.

Vapour uses the first non-blank cost it finds, so broader “All Zones” costs can apply when no more specific cost has been entered. The order below shows exactly how Vapour decides which storage cost to use:

  1. Specific storage unit type
    1. Customer + Type + Zone
    2. Customer + Type + All Zones
    3. Cost Profile + Type + Zone
    4. Cost Profile + Type + All Zones
    5. Default + Type + Zone
    6. Default + Type + All Zones
  2. Storage unit category
    1. Customer + Category + Zone
    2. Customer + Category + All Zones
    3. Cost Profile + Category + Zone
    4. Cost Profile + Category + All Zones
    5. Default + Category + Zone
    6. Default + Category + All Zones
  3. No matching cost found
    1. If none of the above have a cost, Vapour treats the storage cost as 0.00.
